There are many networking events taking place around Melbourne but the quality of these events is sometimes questionable. You have likely seen the posters, flyers and other materials the printing companies have been turning out like mad to let us know about the Melbourne International Comedy Festival but have you taken advantage of what is on offer and gone along to one of the shows? If not, dont fear because there are still a number of days left for the festival to run and numerous comedians who are eager to get your attention and make you laugh.

The City of Melbourne has launched a new campaign to support visitors in finding some of the hidden treasures the city has to offer. The campaign, titled 462 reasons to visit the city this summer and counting, encourages both tourists and regular Melbournians to explore and discover new experiences and remind everyone that the city has a lot more going on than just cafes and restaurants.
The Paladium at Crown 21 in Melbourne has been selected as the venue for this years National Print Awards. The awards night, Friday, 20 April 2012, will recognise the best of Australian print companies in various fields of endeavour.
Printing Industries, the peak body for printing companies, has announced the program for a series of national seminars on how to transition to cleaner printing technology. With the government introducing the Carbon Tax on 1 July 2012, print companies Australia wide, including Melbourne, will be faced with more expensive electricity and other increasing costs. The seminars will focus on training company representatives to manage their energy issues more effectively and reduce ongoing costs.
The graduating students of RMITs printmaking studio have celebrated the end of the year with an annual awards night. Each year the graduates are considered for print awards, including the Collie Trust Emerging Victorian Printmakers Award and the City of Stonnington and Firestation Print Studio Awards.
